Western Miners

If the students were to choose a new name.....I would recommend this..... the Western Miners....and go with UNiversity if Texas El Paso colors and logo which I believe is the same as what they chose before.

On the football logo for the helmets..... put. WEST. And the T in the form of the mining tool

I'm a little confused on why it makes a difference it the new name has a direction or not. Really what difference does it make. This is what the kids wanted so leave it alone.

I'm sure eveyone will agree that Western Union isn't a choice.

I don't see nothing wrong with just Union. Just because we have Central and Eastside doesn't mean that all three schools have to have a direction.

maybe it is just me but I don't like the name Miners for a sports team mascot. I know it is the major force behind our area but I still don't like it as a school's mascot.

I am with you (could be that the 87 strike or that my dad died working in the mines leaves a bad tast in my mouth over it IDK)

I feel like I am a step behind here is the PV/APPY school considering changeing there name change?

Disheartened that Central will not be specified with Wise County in front of it. Wise County Central High School is pedestrian enough,but to just call it Central High School? There are what 10,000 Central Highs out there? It sounds like a generic opponent on an old video game

For me i'm glad they took the Wise County off. I like Central alot better. That's just me. I really wish the kids would have picked Indian Creek.

to put Wise in the name of the school would add more fuel to the fire from the people in Pound. I'm also somewhat suprised by the logo I seen on tv from the SB meeting. What looked like a spear with an arrowhead on it with the name Warriors is what I saw. again, favoring the former JJK school.
